Around Australia to the PHILIPPINES

Having left Australia behind, the “London Business School” was in the lead until just before reaching the Philippines, when the boom suddenly sustained damage during a controlled jibe: it suffered a severe kink in the middle, which meant the mainsail could no longer be used, causing them to drop two places.

In Subic Bay in the Philippines, the bent section of the boom was cut out and the two remaing parts were reattached with rivets.
